Vision Treatment For Children

Tropic Optics is your "Family" Optometrist.

We are experienced in providing vision care to the youngest members of your family. From babies and toddlers, preschool to teenagers, if you have any concerns regarding their vision, bring them in for a detailed vision and eye health assessment.

Young children can suffer from a range of vision disorders including refractive errors (Hyperopia, Myopia, Astigmatism),  binocular vision disorders (lazy eye). These issues can cause eyestrain and blurred vision which may effect their visual development and school performance.

Recent studies show that childhood Myopia has become more prevelent over the past decade.  This condition, often arising between ages 6 and 13, is progressive and causes blurred distance vision. In adults, it can also increase the risk of retinal detachment and glaucoma.

The following signs may indicate Myopia:

  • Difficulty Reading Text From A Distance
  • Complaints Of Headaches Or Strained Eyes
  • Frequent Rubbing Of Eyes

Recent studies have shown that myopic progression can be minimised dramatically by some revolutionary new lens designs. Tropic Optics has been accredited to use these to control myopic progression.

We also assess and treat children's binocular vision defects.

If you have noticed with your child:

  • Eyes That Are Misaligned
  • Poor Depth Perception
  • Frequent Squinting Or Head Tilting

Please book your child in for an eye examination.

To book a consultation or eye examination, please phone Tropic Optics on (08) 8985 5766.
